Recovery

Good morning! I'm now 2 days post-op and doing well. I'm still in pain but nothing that a little Percocet can't fix! I can't move my arms very much so I'm moving a little slow. I feel good so I'm having to force myself to rest and let others help me. Heather (Joel's sister) and Isabel (our niece) arrived yesterday. Ella is so excited to see someone her size.
We are rejoicing in the good report that my lymph nodes are cancer-free!! I have an appointment with Dr. Haines (plastic surgeon) Monday to hopefully remove the drains and begin the tissue expanding. We will find out Friday the final report about the tumor. They will stage my cancer and the results will determine the type and length of chemo I will receive. Again, thank you all for your prayers! By the way, in case you're wondering, I did chop off my hair. I knew I wouldn't be able to lift my arms to fix it and I love this new style. We will be posting more pictures over the next few days of the "Cousins," so make sure to check back. God bless!

Lisa, you don't know me - I received a prayer request for you from Leah (Snider) Ogletree last week. God put you so heavy on my heart and I have interceded for you daily. I praise Him for what He has already done for you and what He will do in the future. Your faith is awesome and you are such an inspiration!
You see, I have a 29 yr old daughter who has a new baby.
God bless you!

Welcome Home! What a precious picture of you (with your new do) and those sweet angels you are holding!

Keep your chin up. And when it gets too heavy, God will send His angles to hold it up for you.

I believe that Laughter IS the best medicine, but I discovered my health plan doesn't cover it. :-)

Lisa, I've been praying continuously for you since I heard the news last week. I specifically prayed Psalm 91 over you and I truly believe that cancer is under your feet! I admire your faith, and I look forward to hearing more about your full recovery!

Much love!!!!

Glad to hear the great news, We have prayed for you and your family daily. Marilyn and I know a little of what you all are going through. We will be a living testimony for the Lord. I told your dad last evening that if you have any questions please call or write us. I figure our treatments will be somewhat different, but 12 chemo's and 20 radiation treatment later we still have some memories.
Be blessed, Terry
Your dad asked last night that we would pray that you would not lose your hair. Well Terry is a testimony that everyone does not lose their hair he lost some but kept a good bit. I prayed for Terry that he would not and he didn't.

Both Lorna and I think you look fantastic! Thank you for doing this BLOG so your friends across the country can monitor your progress and stay up to date on how your family is doing. We're sorry we can't bring dinner over, but we hope you have many friends who are taking good care of you. We know Heather will and we pray it's good family time together and a distraction for sweet Ella Joy. We care about your family and we'll continue to pray and follow your updates daily. (HI JOEL!)
